The School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering was one of the first departments established at the beginning of the university in 1956. It was divided into the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and the Department of Automation in 1998.
It has a National-level Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center for Construction Engineering and Equipment. It has a National-level first-class professional construction point. It has majors in" the plan for educating and training outstanding engineers (PETOE)"
There are 112 faculty members in the school, including 22 senior staff members, 34 associate staff members, 3 part-time doctoral supervisors, 66 master's supervisors, 28 high-level doctoral talents introduced in the past five years, and more than 70 percent of full-time teachers have obtained doctoral degrees.
In recent years, on the basis of high-quality construction of existing platforms, the school has seized the opportunity to build teaching and research platforms and strived to create "Shandong Province Engineering Technology Research Center",
Based in Shandong Province and facing the whole country, the school has trained more than 10,000 senior professional and technical talents in machinery for the country, most of whom have entered design institutes, construction enterprises,
